I was not expecting to have any issue with my 2015 MacBook Pro. I was asking whether others who use the same model have had a similar problem and if so, whether Apple fixed the problem without charging them. However, since mine was bought in April 2015 it won't qualify for the program.

( 13-inch MacBook Pro (non Touch Bar) Battery Replacement Program - Apple Support) for the Macs produced in between October 2016 and October 2017. Please share your experience if you had a same issue. So, It's almost better off for me to buy a new one for now. I can't take it to the retail store in AU as I'm currently overseas and the local Apple authorised service provider gave me a quote of over $500US and 4 weeks to fix the issue.
Is there anyone out there who is using MacBook Pro from 2015 having the same problem? Were you able to get it fixed? Did Apple fix it themselves or did you have to pay for it? I'm just curious. I have another MacBook Pro Retina 13" Late 2012 that still has 90% health on its battery and without any issue.

However, since mine was bought in April 2015 it won't qualify for the program.Īnyways, I just feel like that this is a bit unfair as it was down to how the mac was manufactured not how I used it. There is a battery replacement program ( 13-inch MacBook Pro (non Touch Bar) Battery Replacement Program - Apple Support) for the Macs produced in between October 2016 and October 2017. So the main body is like a slight oval if you see it from the front. It won't also sit on its four rubber bottom legs (?) but sits on its middle section. The lid won't close properly it leaves around 2-3mm on each corner. I tried SMC reset and NVRAM reset and it won't fix the problem I inspected the mac more closely and there was a significant bloating on the middle section both on the upper (keyboard) and the bottom case area.
It became clear to me that my mac was suffering from a battery swelling problem when my battery capacity suddenly dropped down to 42% and won't charge further than that. I should have noticed something was not right then, but I just thought that was weird, as I didn't experience anything wrong with the mac. But when I travelled last month I noticed more marks on the screen like the touchpad upper corners, and I remember looking closely and the upper two corners of the touch pad were above the upper case surface. But if I just wipe it with microfibre cloth it would go away. I'm not quite sure when but I started to notice some keyboard marks on the screen probably from around 1yr ago. I usually use the mac lid closed with my external monitor. Everything else works okay for the moment. Its screen and the keyboard touchpad upper corners, space bar, command keys and every keys in between d to k keys are touching the screen when I close the lid. The devices that are eligible for the battery replacement program include the 2016 13-inch MacBook Pro (Two Thunderbolt 3 Ports), 2017 13-inch MacBook Pro (Two Thunderbolt 3 Ports), 2016 13-inch MacBook Pro (Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports), 2017 13-inch MacBook Pro (Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports), 2016 15-inch MacBook Pro, 2017 15-inch MacBook Pro.At the moment, my lid won't close properly.
